Liberal Democrat Housing spokesperson Jim Tolson MSP has lambasted the Scottish Government for failing to publish clear figures about its housing plans.
Commenting after a debate on housing in the Scottish Parliament, Mr Tolson said:
"There is total confusion and uncertainty on where exactly the Scottish Government's housing programme is. It should be a simple task to identify and state how many houses for rent in the public sector the SNP Government plan to build.
"Yet, despite pressure from the Liberal Democrats and housing organisations, the SNP has yet to publish clear figures about its housing plans. Ministers cannot expect us to take their pledges to abolish unintentional homelessness or to increase affordable rented houses seriously if they cannot produce figures and a strategy to back these promises up.
“We’ve had debate after debate about housing in the Scottish Parliament giving SNP ample opportunities to come clean about their housing plans. Enough is enough, it’s time for the SNP to back up their vacuous promises with facts and figures.”
