Commenting as the Scottish Government confirms that it has amended its consultation on the independence referendum so that anonymous submissions will no longer be included, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP said:

Willie Rennie MSP“I’m pleased that the SNP have recognised the legitimate concerns raised over the consultation process and have moved quickly to address them.

“The SNP have damaged their reputation. This reversal shows that they know they got it wrong and people will rightly view them with more suspicion after these events.

“It is vital that the referendum is clean and above board. People must have confidence that the choice we make over Scotland’s future is the right one rather than the rigged one.”
