Amanda Clark
Candidate for Perth and Kinross-shire
The Scottish Liberal Democrats candidate for Perth and Kinross-shire shire at this General Election is Amanda Clark. She lives locally, in Kinross, with her family and plays an active part in the local community.
After teaching for thirty years, Amanda has taken early retirement to become a full-time Carer for her son who has complex disabilities.
She balances her caring role with volunteering for Rainbows and Guides and the local anti-poverty charity. This has given her a greater understanding of the challenges faced by many families in Perth and Kinross-shire in the current cost of living crisis. She also regularly completes Mighty Hikes to fund-raise for the Macmillan Cancer Charity. Amanda is passionate about standing up for families who have children with additional needs and would be a strong advocate for them.
Amanda’s husband runs a small, manufacturing company that exports internationally. This means she has first-hand knowledge of the challenges faced by businesses in this post- Brexit era.
Her wealth of experience in teaching, charity work and fighting for her son’s needs means that, if elected as MP, Amanda will be a strong champion for Carers and Families.
