Alister Jack’s message deletion is shameful

Responding to Alister Jack’s evidence to the Covid inquiry, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton said:

“Just as Nicola Sturgeon’s shameful deletion of messages has denied grieving families a true picture of her decision-making process during the Covid crisis, so too has Alister Jack’s.

“People who lost loved ones to the virus will undoubtedly be sceptical that these messages were truly deleted simply to free up space on his phone.

“His testimony also exposed the poor state of working relations between the Scottish and UK governments. Our country deserves both its governments working together for the common good. Instead it’s the same cycle of bitterness and blame from both the Conservatives and the SNP.”
