Cole-Hamilton: A&E crisis not letting up

Responding to new figures showing only 61.6% of people attending A&E were seen within the 4 hour target in the week ending 2nd February, while 4,038 people waited over 8 hours and 1,967 waited over 12 hours, Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader and health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton said:
"The crisis in our A&E department is showing no signs of letting up. The SNP's NHS Recovery Plan has completely failed to improve conditions, if anything they have gotten worse since it was introduced.
"Our hardworking NHS staff deserve better. They need beds and safe staffing levels but instead have had to deal with the consequences of the SNP’s failure to get a grip on this crisis.
"Scottish Liberal Democrats would bring forward measures to address burnout among staff and help people leave hospital on time with a care package through a new UK-wide minimum wage for care workers that is £2 higher.”
