Edinburgh MP calls for COBRA meeting after air traffic control issues
The Liberal Democrats have urged Rishi Sunak to call an urgent COBRA meeting after UK air traffic control systems have been hit with a “technical issue
Liberal Democrat Scottish Affairs spokesperson and Edinburgh West MP Christine Jardine said:
"With the Edinburgh festival coming to a close, this is likely to be a busy period for Scottish airports.
“Rishi Sunak and his Ministers need to get a grip on this issue urgently and hold a COBRA meeting. Scottish ministers will also need to engage with their UK counterparts to ensure that these issues are effectively managed.
"Travellers cannot afford for either government to go missing at a moment like this, or it could have a disruptive impact on millions of holidaymakers.
“Brits need to know that the Government is doing all it can to make sure people aren't hit with major delays and disruptions in the coming days."
