FOI commissioner ticks off ministers
Responding to a letter from the Information Commissioner to the Scottish Government over concerns that the government submitted “factual discrepancies” in evidence, delayed an unwinnable case and misrepresented facts to the media in the three year legal battle over documents relating to the Alex Salmond inquiry, Willie Rennie MSP said:
"It's rare to see a government ticked off so sternly and so publicly.
"It looks awfully like SNP ministers mounted a concerted campaign to prevent anyone getting to the bottom of this saga.
"Ministers and senior civil servants who played along with this farce and failed to push back need to reflect on their positions."
