Jardine responds to Autumn statement

Responding to the Autumn statement, Liberal Democrat Scottish Affairs spokesperson Christine Jardine MP said:

“Last year the Tories smashed the economy sending mortgages and tax bills soaring, this year they congratulate themselves for picking a few of the pieces up.

“Inflation is still high and there was precious little here to tackle the cost of living. There was also deafening silence on health care which means there will be little in the way of hope for those stick on waiting lists in Scotland and elsewhere in the UK.

“It is a no-brainer that we need people off waiting lists and back to work providing a much-needed boost to the economy.

“Today has been more stale nonsense from a Conservative government out of touch and out of ideas.”
