Lib Dems respond to North Lanarkshire leisure cuts
Responding to North Lanarkshire Council's policy and strategy committee meeting voting to axe 39 swimming pools, libraries, community and sport centres, Scottish Liberal Democrat economy spokesperson Willie Rennie said:
“The SNP’s harsh real-term cuts are tearing into the hearts of communities.
“Slashing local sports funding has an impact not just on public health, but also on the local economy.
“Voters are running out of patience with the nationalists. Scottish Liberal Democrats would protect and enhance local authority budgets so that sport really can be for everyone."
