Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton has today called on voters who are tired of SNP failure to back his party, as he highlighted how the party can beat the SNP in huge swathes of Scotland.

Ahead of the first votes being cast by post in the coming days, he joined campaigners in setting out the party’s plans to get everyone fast access to GPs and an NHS dentist, lift up Scottish education and end sewage dumping.

The Scottish Liberal Democrat leader highlighted the significance of seats like Mid Dunbartonshire. There were just 149 votes between the parties last time in the former seat of East Dunbartonshire, a majority of just 0.28%, making it the closest-fought seat in Scotland.

Alex Cole-Hamilton said:

"People deserve a fair deal and local champions who will work tirelessly to get you GP and dentist access, lift up Scottish education and stop sewage being dumped in our rivers.

"In seats across the country, from Cupar to Cape Wrath, Milngavie to Mallaig, Cramond to Kirkwall, only the Scottish Liberal Democrats can beat the nationalists.

"My message is this: if you've had enough of being let down by the SNP and feel like you are being taken for granted, then vote for change. Postal voters can do that in the coming days.

"By backing the Scottish Liberal Democrats you will get a local champion who'll fight for a fair deal for your community and every part of our country. We've beaten the SNP before and we can do it again."
