Rennie comments on disturbance at Johnstone High School
Responding to reports of a disturbance at Johnstone High School in Renfrewshire, which has seen three teachers and a 14-year-old pupil injured, Scottish Liberal Democrat education spokesperson Willie Rennie MSP said:
“Understandably, staff and students will be deeply concerned by this incident. I hope that everyone involved is receiving the care they need.
“The NASUWT teaching union has already warned about an increase in “challenging” behaviour in schools ever since the pandemic. It’s time for the government to listen and act.
“Scottish Liberal Democrats want to see meaningful investment in core education provision so that students and staff can go about their day in a safe environment.”
