Rennie comments on investment bank’s £8m DRS loss
Responding to the news that the Scottish National Investment Bank made an £8m loss on the SNP and Green’s bottle deposit return scheme, a hit which made up the majority of the bank’s £14.6m losses in the last financial year, Scottish Liberal Democrat Willie Rennie said:
“Bottle return schemes have operated successfully throughout the world, but the SNP and Greens made a pig’s ear of it. Taxpayers and businesses are being left to clean up their mess and the government-backed bank has lost millions that should have gone into good Scottish companies.
“Both the government and the bank should be making sure that every penny is going towards sound investments that will deliver for people across Scotland.”
