Responding to new national statistics showing that Scotland’s GDP fell by 0.3% between April and June, Scottish Liberal Democrat economy spokesperson Willie Rennie MSP commented:

“Business and families across the country are paying the price of SNP and Tory chaos, from mortgage rates going through the roof to the ferries fiasco that is cutting off communities.

“The failure to grow the economy means less money for overwhelmed public services and neither government has got a clue how to fix their own mess.

“Scotland needs its governments to get serious about delivering highly skilled, high wage jobs and ending a decade of depressed economic performance.”
