Rennie responds to news that CalMac boss flew to South Uist to meet islanders
Responding to the news that CalMac chief executive, Robbie Drummond, flew to meet with South Uist residents in June of this year instead of taking a ferry, Scottish Liberal Democrat communities spokesperson Willie Rennie MSP said:
“This simply rubs salt into the deep wounds of every islander who has lost business, missed events and struggled to get to medical appointments because of endless ferry chaos.
“This SNP/Green government must finally do the right thing and compensate islanders for the storm of disruption they have been forced to endure. We need a long-term investment plan for Scotland’s ferry network that will prevent this fiasco from ever happening again.”
