Rennie responds to significant delays for Adult Disability Payment
Responding to reports that the roll-out of the Scottish Government’s new Adult Disability Payment has seen “significant delays,” according to welfare rights groups, Scottish Liberal Democrat economy and communities spokesperson Willie Rennie MSP said:
“Yet again, the nationalist rhetoric has fallen far short of the reality.
“They promised adult disability claims would be processed in 8-10 weeks, but these figures show that waits are more than double that.
“The Scottish Government must come to Parliament with a practical plan to cut these waits as it isn’t fair, dignified or respectful for people in need to wait so long.”
