Rennie responds to Yousaf and Robison on council tax

Responding to today’s comments from Shona Robison and Humza Yousaf about the council tax, Scottish Liberal Democrat Economy spokesperson Willie Rennie said:

“The Scottish Government cannot decide if they are coming or going. They don’t know who benefits from this policy or who will pay the price.

“Every council is going to impose cuts whether they accept the Scottish Government’s bribe or not because there is nowhere near enough money to deliver the services that people rely on.

“The Scottish Government may claim this is not about a punishment for councils but the reality is that it is a recipe for public services to suffer.”
