Scot Lib Dems respond to Ferrier suspension

Responding to MPs recommending that Margaret Ferrier should be suspended from Parliament for 30 days for her breach of Covid regulations, Liberal Democrat Scottish Affairs spokesperson Christine Jardine MP said:

"Scottish Liberal Democrats are unequivocally in favour of a recall petition and a by-election.  

“Not only is this a chance to give Rutherglen and Hamilton West the representation it deserves, it is a chance to send a message to the new nationalist First Minister that people are sick of the divisive and out of touch politics he and his party represent.

“We all need to take responsibility for the decisions that we make, particularly when public safety is involved and the committee has made that clear by recommending Margaret Ferrier's suspension.”
